Setting up the Iceland RSK Statutory Reporting extension

Setting up the Iceland RSK Statutory Reporting extension

This guide shows you how to switch on and configure the Iceland RSK Statutory Reporting extension so your RSK-201 monthly employer return is filed with Skatturinn automatically after each Icelandic payroll run. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Iceland RSK Statutory Reporting extension: what it does.

Install and enable

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
  2. Find the Iceland RSK Statutory Reporting card (search for "RSK" or "Skatturinn" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details.
  3. Click Install to add it to your system.
  4. Click Enable. Because this extension needs your Skatturinn details, a configuration drawer opens — fill in the required fields (marked *) and click Enable to finish.

Settings

Enter the details Skatturinn associates with your business. You can change them later by clicking Configure and then Save.

  • Company kennitala * — the 10-digit national registration number (kennitala) of the employer.
  • Skatturinn API key * — the API key issued by Skatturinn for electronic RSK submissions. This is sensitive: it's stored securely and shown masked, so when you reconfigure later you can leave it blank to keep the current key.
  • Submission endpoint (optional) — leave blank to submit to the live Skatturinn service. Set it to a sandbox/test endpoint if you want to trial submissions before going live.

Using it day to day

Once enabled, the extension works on its own. Each time an Icelandic payroll run is completed and approved, NexerIQ assembles the RSK-201 return for everyone in that run and files it with Skatturinn — one submission per run. There's no separate step to remember and no file to upload. If the same run is processed again, it won't be submitted twice.

Turning it off

To pause filing, open the card and click Disable — your settings are kept and you can re-enable any time. To remove it completely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the extension's stored values.

Tip: confirm your company kennitala and Skatturinn API key are correct before your first live run, and consider trialling a submission against a sandbox endpoint first. Accurate identifiers are what let Skatturinn accept your return cleanly.
