Before NexerIQ can exchange information with ZoHo Desk, you connect the two with a secure ZoHo sign-in. Don't worry if terms like "OAuth" are new — it simply means NexerIQ asks ZoHo for permission once, and ZoHo hands back a secure key so you never store your ZoHo password in NexerIQ. This is a one-time setup on the Connection tab of Settings → ZoHo Desk.
Step 1 — Create a ZoHo application
In the ZoHo API console (accounts.zoho.com), create a Server-based application. When it asks for an Authorized Redirect URI, paste the redirect URI shown on the NexerIQ Connection tab (use the Copy button next to it). ZoHo then gives you a Client ID and Client Secret — keep them handy.
Step 2 — Enter your details in NexerIQ
- On the Connection tab, paste your OAuth client ID and OAuth client secret.
- Check the Accounts server URL matches your ZoHo data centre — for example https://accounts.zoho.com, or the regional address such as .eu if that is where your ZoHo account lives.
- Click Save.
Step 3 — Connect and approve
- Click Connect ZoHo. You are taken to ZoHo to sign in.
- Review the permissions NexerIQ requests and approve them. You are returned to NexerIQ automatically.
- If your login covers more than one ZoHo organization, choose the right one from the list with the Use button.
Step 4 — Test the connection
Click Test Connection. NexerIQ checks it can reach ZoHo and shows how many organizations it can see. A green confirmation means you're connected.
Permissions and reconnecting
NexerIQ requests a set of ZoHo permissions — reading and updating accounts, contacts, and fields, reading tickets, and (for time-entry sync) reading agents. The Connection tab shows the current permission status. If a future NexerIQ update needs an additional permission, you'll see a permissions update required notice and a Reconnect ZoHo button — click it and approve again to keep everything working.
Activate and disconnect
- Activate — to use ZoHo Desk as your help desk in NexerIQ (for example to see customer tickets), click Activate. You can Deactivate later without losing the connection.
- Disconnect — removes the link to ZoHo entirely; you can reconnect at any time.
Tip: your Client Secret is stored securely and shown masked — if you ever need to change it, just enter a new value and Save; leave it blank to keep the current one.
