Running a payroll run in NexerIQ

A payroll run works out everyone's pay for a single period and produces a pay slip for each employee. NexerIQ does the maths for you — gross pay, tax withheld, and net pay — based on each person's pay setup and recorded hours. You'd use this each time you pay your team, with a clear approval checkpoint before any money goes out.

Start a run

  1. Go to Payroll → Payroll runs.
  2. Select Create payroll run.
  3. Set the Period start, Period end, Pay date, and Currency, then save.

NexerIQ calculates each employee's pay slip as part of the run, so you don't run the calculation as a separate step.

Check the numbers

In the runs list you can see each run's Status, Employees, Gross, Tax amount, and Net amount. Select View pay slips on a run to open the per-employee breakdown of gross pay, tax withheld, and net pay, with totals at the bottom.

Approve and pay

  1. When the figures look right, select Approve run. A run can only be approved once it has at least one employee.
  2. For an approved run, use Download bank file to get the payment file for your bank, and Download statutory report for the period's reporting file.
  3. Once your team has been paid, select Mark as paid.

A run moves through DraftCalculatedApprovedPaid, so you always know where it stands.

Government submissions

For an approved or paid run, select View submissions to see any statutory submissions, their status, and reference numbers. If a submission has failed, a Retry submissions button appears so you can send it again.
