Asset Location extension: track where each asset is physically located
The Asset Location extension keeps track of exactly where each asset physically lives — from the site right down to the room. When someone needs to find a piece of equipment, you'll know where to look instead of hunting floor by floor.
What it adds
- Site — the campus or building complex the asset belongs to.
- Building — the specific building within that site.
- Floor — the floor or level within the building.
- Room — the room or zone within the floor.
- Location Notes — freeform notes for precise placement, like "behind the reception desk" or "second shelf, server rack 3".
Who it's for
Facilities managers, IT teams, and anyone responsible for assets spread across more than one space. It's a real time-saver for audits, stock checks, and rapid retrieval — and it makes onboarding new staff easier, since they can find things without asking around.
Good to know
You can fill in as much or as little detail as you need — a single building site might only use Floor and Room, while a large campus will use every field. The location details appear on your existing assets; nothing else about them changes.
