Asset Assignment extension: track which employee holds each asset

The Asset Assignment extension answers a question every team asks sooner or later: who has this asset right now? It adds simple "assigned to" details to your assets, so you always know which employee is responsible for a laptop, tool, or piece of equipment — and since when.

What it adds

  • Assigned Employee — links each asset to a person from your employee directory, so the name is always accurate and tied to a real record.
  • Assigned Date — the date the current assignment was made, so you can see how long someone has had the asset.

Who it's for

Any business that hands out equipment to staff — IT teams managing laptops and phones, workshops issuing tools, or offices tracking shared kit. It's especially handy for accountability, audits, and knowing exactly who to contact when an asset needs attention or comes due for return.

Good to know

The new details sit right alongside your existing asset information — nothing about your assets changes except that you now have a clear, searchable record of who holds what. Because the assigned person comes from your employee directory, you don't have to retype names or worry about typos.
