Setting up the Customer National Registry extension

Setting up the Customer National Registry extension

This guide shows you how to install and configure the Customer National Registry extension so you can refresh customer names and addresses from the official registry. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Customer National Registry extension: what it does.

Install and enable

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
  2. Find the Customer National Registry card (search for "national registry" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details and required permissions.
  3. Click Install to add it to your system.
  4. Click Enable. Because this extension needs connection details, a settings drawer opens — fill in the required fields and click Enable.

Settings

You can adjust these any time afterwards by clicking Configure on the card and then Save:

  • Registry base URL * — the base address of the national registry lookup service. The customer's national ID is added to the end of this address when a lookup runs. This is required.
  • API key — the key sent with each lookup so the registry recognises your account. This is a sensitive value: it's stored securely and shown masked, never in plain text. When updating settings later, leave it blank to keep the current key.
  • Default country code — the country code applied when a registry record doesn't include one. Defaults to IS.

Using it day to day

Once enabled, open any customer with a national ID on record and choose Update from national registry:

  1. NexerIQ asks you to confirm, and lets you choose whether to update the address as well as the name (this is on by default).
  2. The extension looks up the national ID and applies any differences to the customer.
  3. You see a short summary of exactly what changed — or a note that the customer already matched the official record.

To run the action, a user needs permission to edit customers (Customers.Write).

Turning it off

To pause the feature, open the card and click Disable — your connection settings are kept and you can re-enable any time. To remove it entirely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the extension's stored values, including the saved API key.

Tip: run the action on one or two known customers first to confirm the registry connection works before rolling it out to your team. If a lookup reports the national ID wasn't found, double-check the ID on the customer record.
