Setting up the Customer Queue Auto Email extension

This guide shows you how to install, enable, and configure the Customer Queue Auto Email extension so customers are emailed automatically when they join a queue. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Customer Queue Auto Email extension: what it does.

Before you start

Queue emails send through your company's outbound email, so make sure email is set up in NexerIQ first (Settings → Email). If you can already send email from NexerIQ, you're ready.

Install and enable

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
  2. Find the Customer Queue Auto Email card (search for "queue email" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details and required permissions.
  3. Click Install to add it to your system.
  4. Click Enable. Because this extension has settings, a drawer opens — review the values and click Enable.

Settings

You can change these any time by clicking Configure on the card and then Save:

  • Enabled by default — when on, emails are sent for queues that don't set their own preference. Turn it off if you'd rather opt queues in one at a time. Defaults to on.
  • Tracking URL base — an optional public web address used to build the queue status link in the email. Leave it blank if you don't offer a customer-facing status page.

Per-queue and per-entry controls live on the queues themselves. To manage how individual queues behave, go to Settings → Customers → Queue, where each queue has an Auto email enabled switch and each entry can be marked with an Auto email opt-out.

Using it day to day

Once enabled, the extension works on its own. Each time a customer with an email address is added to a queue, NexerIQ sends the notification automatically. To shape who gets emailed:

  • Use the Auto email enabled switch on a queue to turn notifications on or off for that queue specifically.
  • Set Auto email opt-out on an individual entry to skip the email for that one customer.
  • Keep customer email addresses accurate so notifications reach them.

Turning it off

To pause queue emails everywhere, open the card and click Disable — your settings and per-queue choices are kept, and you can re-enable any time. To remove it entirely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the extension's stored values.

Tip: leave Enabled by default off if only a few of your queues should email customers — then switch on just those queues under Settings → Customers → Queue.
