Setting up the Customer Sale Notes extension

Setting up the Customer Sale Notes extension

This guide shows you how to switch on the Customer Sale Notes extension so flagged customer notes surface when you build an invoice. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Customer Sale Notes extension: what it does.

Install and enable

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
  2. Find the Customer Sale Notes card (search for "sale notes" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details and required permissions.
  3. Click Install to add it to your system.
  4. Click Enable to switch it on. Customer Sale Notes has no settings to fill in, so it activates immediately.

Settings

There's nothing to configure — once enabled, the Notify On Sale option simply becomes available on customer notes.

Using it day to day

With the extension on, you control which notes are important:

  1. Open a customer and add or edit a note.
  2. Turn on Notify On Sale for any note that staff should see at invoice time.
  3. Later, when that customer is added to an invoice, a drawer opens automatically showing the flagged notes for the team to review before continuing.

Notes without the flag stay quietly on the customer record as usual — only the ones you mark will prompt at sale time.

Turning it off

To stop the reminders, open the card and click Disable — your notes are untouched and you can re-enable any time. To remove it entirely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the extension's stored values, including the Notify On Sale flags.

Tip: keep flagged notes short and action-focused — a clear line like "Account on credit hold — check with finance" is far more useful at the till than a long history.
