Setting up the Product Webshop extension

Setting up the Product Webshop extension

This guide shows you how to switch on the Product Webshop extension so you can publish products to an online store and control how they're presented. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Product Webshop extension: what it does.

Install and enable

  1. Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
  2. Find the Product Webshop card (search for "webshop" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details and required permissions.
  3. Click Install to add it to your system.
  4. Click Enable to switch it on. Product Webshop has no settings to fill in, so it activates immediately.

Settings

There's nothing to configure — once enabled, the webshop fields and the dashboard widget appear automatically.

Using it day to day

Open any product and look for the Webshop group:

  • Turn on Enabled to publish the product, and pick the Shops it should appear in.
  • Write the Description (short copy) and Details (longer copy) shoppers will read.
  • Set the Meta Title and Meta Description to help search engines list the product.
  • Use Sort Order to position the product within its category.

Keep an eye on the Webshop publishing dashboard widget for a quick view of the products that carry these attributes.

Turning it off

To stop using the fields, open the card and click Disable — your saved values are kept and you can re-enable any time. To remove it entirely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the webshop values stored on your products.

Tip: write a clear Meta Title and Meta Description for the products you most want found — strong storefront copy and SEO metadata are what bring shoppers to the page.
