This guide shows you how to switch on the Work Project Assignment extension so you can record an owner, supervisor, default worker, and parent project on every work project. For what the extension does and why you'd use it, see Work Project Assignment extension: what it does.
Install and enable
- Go to Settings → Marketplace Extensions.
- Find the Work Project Assignment card (search for "assignment" if it's quicker), and click it to review the details and required permissions.
- Click Install to add it to your system.
- Click Enable to switch it on. There are no settings to fill in, so it activates immediately.
Settings
There's nothing to configure — once enabled, the assignment fields simply appear on your work projects, ready to use.
Using it day to day
After enabling, open any work project and you'll find a new Assignment group with the extra fields. To use them:
- Set the Owner and Supervisor so everyone knows who's accountable and who's overseeing the work.
- Set the Default Worker to record the primary resource on the project.
- Use Parent Project to link a project under a larger one when you're building a multi-level structure.
To stop using the fields, open the card and click Disable — your existing values are kept and it can be re-enabled. To remove it completely, click Uninstall and confirm; this purges the assignment fields and their stored values.
Tip: agree on a simple convention for who counts as "Owner" versus "Supervisor" across your team before you fill these in — consistent entries make your project reports far more useful.
