Work Project Planning extension: add estimated, actual, and milestone dates to work projects

The Work Project Planning extension brings proper scheduling dates to your work projects. It adds a set of planning fields — estimated and actual start and finish dates, plus best- and worst-case projections — so you can plan delivery windows, track how reality compares to the plan, and report on it with confidence.

What it adds

Once enabled, every work project gains seven date fields, grouped together under Planning:

  • Founded On — when the project was first initiated.
  • Estimated Start and Estimated Finish — your planned delivery window.
  • Actual Start and Actual Finish — the real start and end dates as they happen.
  • Optimistic Finish — your best-case finish date.
  • Pessimistic Finish — your worst-case finish date.

Who it's for

Project teams that need to schedule work, then check how delivery actually went. Having estimated and actual dates side by side makes variance analysis straightforward, and the optimistic and pessimistic dates help you set realistic expectations with stakeholders.

Good to know

These are simple date fields you fill in as a project progresses — no complex setup. They sit alongside the rest of your work project details and feed directly into scheduling and delivery reporting.
